Graduate Certificate for Dual Credit Teaching in Mathematics
The Graduate Certificate in Dual Credit Teaching in Mathematics is a fully online program, which provides the opportunity to complete the graduate courses necessary to be credentialed for teaching dual credit courses in Texas. To teach college-level academic courses, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requires a master’s degree or doctoral degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline being taught. Students, who already have a master’s degree in another area, can fulfill this 18-hour requirement in Mathematics by completing the Certificate. Students, who have not yet earned a master’s degree, have the option of earning the Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction-Mathematics Track by completing 12 hours of graduate education coursework in addition to the 18 hours for the Mathematics graduate certificate.
