Graduate Certificate for Dual Credit Teaching in English

The Graduate Certificate in English Literature and Language is a fully online cohort program, which provides the opportunity to complete the graduate courses necessary to be credentialed for teaching dual credit courses. For college-level academic courses, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) requires a master’s degree or doctoral degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline being taught. Students, who already have a master’s degree in another area, can complete this 18-hour requirement in English through the Certificate. Students, who have not yet earned a master’s degree, can apply their completed 18 credit hours toward a Master of Arts in English Literature and Language from St. Mary’s University.
