Public Health Certificate
The Public Health Certificate consists of 12 hours in the traditional public health core knowledge areas defined by the Council on Education for Public Health, the accrediting body for all schools and programs of public health. These areas include: epidemiology, environmental health sciences, health services administration, and social and behavioral sciences. The 12 required hours are distributed across courses designated as these four areas of public health.
The certificate aligns with the recommended public health core knowledge areas as defined by the Council on Education for public health and is designed with a built-in flexibility for students. Majors from across the university have access to this curricular opportunity, and they may draw from their own field to meet certificate prerequisites including completion of one course in college-level math (per student degree plan) and one course in statistics.
