Enrolling in Graduate Courses for Undergraduate Credit

Under exceptional circumstances, an undergraduate student may enroll in a graduate-level course for undergraduate credit at the undergraduate tuition rate. This exception requires prior written approval from the student's academic advisor, the course instructor, and both the Dean and the chairperson of the graduate department offering the course. Graduate courses taken for undergraduate credit may be applied only toward undergraduate degree requirements and may not later be applied toward graduate credit. 

Accelerated Degree Programs

St. Mary’s University offers Combined Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs, allowing the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in about five years, rather than the traditional six or more years. Students pursuing master’s degrees while in the Combined Degree Program are charged the undergraduate rate for graduate-level courses (limited to six graduate credit hours per semester and 15 total credit hours).
